We are looking to build some apps for BB10. Is there a way to get a BB10 device and we are willing to pay for it?

I wonder whether we could purchase a dev alpha machine?

This is critical for us to develop and release our app on BB 10 platform.

BlackBerry 10 Dev Alphas are not available for sale.  However, you can obtain one by attending a BlackBerry Jam event.  Refer to this link for a list of events.

Thanks for the reply. However I can not attend that conference in California. Will there be any events in Ottawa? Or no other way to get the device?

All events are/will be listed on that site.  We did do an event in Toronto and Montreal, but not Ottawa.

There is no other way to get a device.

Is it true that developers with a Dev Alpha can trade theirs for a limited edition device if they submit an App that is accepted before the BB10 launch?

Yes, but app for BB10 only.
