Okay, I know this is totally my fault for not researching the Vendor Portal approval timeframe, but I actually had no idea that I'd need a separate vendor account to submit my app. I just submitted my application about 30 minutes ago, is there any chance that I'll be approved today? Or, is there anything I can do on my end to speed this up?

I registered as a company, not an individual, if that helps (I read somewhere that company's not have to be notarized .. do I still need to send in a driver's license?).

What if I sign my app before midnight tonight but don't get to submit it until after my vendor application is approved? Could the timestamp on the app be used to show that it was completed before midnight?

Sorry about this. I should have done more research.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They will probably only look at upload date/time.  The offer has been going on since the Fall.  There is nothing you can do except FAX in your paper work just in case that gets all approved by the close of business at RIM HQ.  There is different information needed for companies.

And in case it does happen, you will need to get the vendor portal content ready: product description, large logo, screen shots (resized).

Yes, turtle-dev is right: I submitted my application to become a Vendor, not the actual Playbook app itself (yet...).

Still no email from RIM... I'm watching my email closely.

Well, I just got back my Vendor Approval.

So, sent it in last night at about 7, got the identificaiton reuqest this morning at 9 am, got the approval at 2 pm.

Sounds like they are moving fast to try to get everyone approved in time for the offer. All you can do is cross your fingers and hope they get to yours in time. It took mine around 24 hours a couple of days ago.

Thanks for the update, that's good to hear!

Based on the process, do I actually have to wait until I receive a personal identification request, or could I potentially send in the information before getting that email to try and speed things up?

Also, is it just a driver's license that I'd need for the identification request?

I used my driver's license, front and back in a pdf file back to the e-mail address.

So, I think you still have to wait for the request for verification.
