App quits immediately when running on PlayBook

I'm using the release version of Flash Builder 4.5 and the latest SDK.  I've got all debug tokens created and am able to load apps onto my PlayBook.  However, they quit (or crash) immedietely as they are run.  I've tried brand new empty projects as well as our existing titles in the App Store all with the same results.

Any suggestions?

Are you getting an error code in the  notification area? I had this issue as well and rebooted my PB.  seemed to work fine after the reboot.

Re: App quits immediately when running on PlayBook

Are you running with debugging enabled? You might see a traceback when it crashes.

Also, "immediately"? Presumably after you see the splash screen. Do you see anything after the splash screen, even for a moment?

Re: App quits immediately when running on PlayBook

I do see the splash screens.  One is custom and another the default.   I'm not getting any trace statements in Flash Builder 4.5 or notifications (that I can see) on the PlayBook.  I've tried rebooting, including a hard reboot (holding the power button for 15 seconds).

My PlayBook is one of the earlier production models if that would make any impact.  It is updated to the release firmware and everyting else runs properly.

Re: App quits immediately when running on PlayBook

It may be a bit of a long-shot, but possibly the app's log file would show something.

You'd have to connect via SSH (other threads describe how.. it's non-trivial especially if you've never used SSH before).

Then you'd change to your app's data directory, under /accounts/1000/appdata/yourapp-name-and-id-here/logs .

In there, the file "air-trace" would have anything that should have been sent to the debugger, and possibly a few extra lines. It will likely have nothing of any use if you don't compile with "-debug", and to access it at all you'll need to package with the "-devMode" flag as well (which I think happens normally with a debug build in the IDE).

Re: App quits immediately when running on PlayBook

Here is the solution:

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Tablet-OS-SDK-for-Adobe-AIR/Read-This-Before-Upgrading-to-the...

Or more specifically the instruction on this page:

http://blogs.adobe.com/jasonsj/2011/05/flex45_air25_playbook.html

I was running the old .9.3 SDK previously and figured I'd update everything to the newest versions as we get back into doing development again.  We should have checked this forum first to find out the release build of 4.5 shouldn't be used yet.

The hot fix was easy to setup and now everything is working properly.
