It looks like the default font (SlatePro) has changed in 10.0.9.1675 with regards to Asian fonts support.
Korean characters no longer display.
Simplified chinese have a lot of missing characters.
Traditional chinese font style has changed (looked better before).
This has only happened with the latest OS. Any ideas if this will be corrected for final build, or I need to manually change to another font to ensure proper Asian characters display?

To add to this, I've tried to manually set the fonts in my custom cell renderers and labels to one of the locale specific fonts from: http://devblog.blackberry.com/2012/07/blackberry-1
The Asian fonts in Korean and Simplified Chinese are still not coming out properly in controls or text labels. This is frustrating, everything was working properly before. Help!?

Nevermind, false alarm!
My Dev Alpha OS was not updated properly. I wiped and reinstalled the OS and now all is fine!

On the similar context, I have hindi text all show as x with square box on my BB. I thought BB support Unicode, no?

BB supports Unicode, but the default font (SlatePro) may not have the charcters you need.
For example, to display Tamil, I need to set the font to Tamil OST to display properly.
