Cannot build for PlayBook

[ Edited ]

I'm trying to install an AIR mobile (flex) application on BlackBerry Playbook.

I managed to publish many successful builds of my app for all Blackberry devices EXCEPT Playbook.

The application failed to installed with this following error message "failure 821 Application-requires-system :unrecognized system name "BlackBerry10".

I am using FlashBuilder 4.7 with AIR 3.1 SDK and I am using Adobe and Blackberry ANEs to build the app.

I am using the 3 ANEs

  • QNXDevice.ANE
  • QNXNetwork.ANE
  • QNXSensors.ANE

Is the AIR SDK I am using (3.1) is correct for Playbook ? It DOES work for all other BlackBerry device.. ? Any ideas what might cause this ?

Thanks !

Re: Cannot build for PlayBook

Did you use the TabletOS SDK (2.2 I think)? Quite a while ago, you were still able to download it from developer.blackberry.com/air, but now it looks like it is gone.

Air SDK 3.1 should be ok

Re: Cannot build for PlayBook

I downloaded the SDK as it appears in the BlackBerry AIR SDK section, nothing more, nothing less.

I am using the 3 ANEs

  • QNXDevice.ANE
  • QNXNetwork.ANE
  • QNXSensors.ANE

Am I missing something ?

Re: Cannot build for PlayBook

Yes. You're missing the TabletOS SDK

TabletSDK -> PlayBook

BB10 SDK -> BB10 devices

PlayBook is not BB10

Thanks !

Re: Cannot build for PlayBook

there's that thread

http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Adobe-AIR-Development/Tips-Definitive-guide-to-AIR-apps-for-p...

but the link is old/deprecated. the current SDK can be downloaded here: (2.1)

https://developer.blackberry.com/playbook/air/download/

careful: some function might not work because they are not supported on PlayBook. Most of the BB10-ANE functions e.g.

Re: Cannot build for PlayBook

Hi !

I downloaded the Tablet SDK and now I'm wondering which files should I use in my project ?

Here are the files I think are relevant:

\Research In Motion\blackberry-tablet-sdk-2.1.0\frameworks\libs\qnx\ane\QNXNetwork.ane

\Research In Motion\blackberry-tablet-sdk-2.1.0\frameworks\libs\qnx\ane\QNXSensors.ane

\Research In Motion\blackberry-tablet-sdk-2.1.0\frameworks\libs\blackberry\blackberry.swc

C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\blackberry-tablet-sdk-2.1.0\frameworks\libs\air\qnx-air.swc

Which do I need to include ?

Only the ANEs ?

Thanks !

Re: Cannot build for PlayBook

all of them, I guess? at least the two *.swc, but actually it depends on your project.
