I'm trying to develop a Playbook application using Adobe Air SDK.
I want to create an application which open a UDP Broadcast socket and wait to receive a message.
Is this possible to do with Adobe Air SDK?

Per Adobe docs, it appears there is still not mobile profile support (I set the filter on the API reference for "AIR 3.1 and earlier runtime".) Note the class property available for you to test for support at runtime.
"AIR profile support: This feature is supported on all desktop operating systems, but is not supported on mobile devices or AIR for TV devices. You can test for support at run time using the
DatagramSocket.isSupported property. See AIR Profile Support for more information regarding API support across multiple profiles."

That changed now in the new Air SDK 3.8 wich is in beta right now. I am just starting to research developing for blackberry. Can I just use AIR 3.1 for blackberry 10 ?

Next BB10 supported AIR runtime is 3.5, slated for June:
Click on release "A7 - Updated runtime":
"We're working with Adobe to bring version 3.5 of the Adobe AIR runtime to the platform. This update includes Stage3D support."
