DropShadow slow performance in scrolling

Hi,

I have TileList with custom cellrenderer which add containers with shadows to the cell

var dropShadow:smileyvery-happy:ropShadowFilter = new DropShadowFilter();

dropShadow.distance = 0;

dropShadow.angle = 45;

dropShadow.color = 0x333333;

dropShadow.alpha = 1;

dropShadow.blurX = 5;

dropShadow.blurY = 5;

dropShadow.strength = 1;

dropShadow.quality = 15;

dropShadow.inner = false;

dropShadow.knockout = false;

dropShadow.hideObject = false;

var cont:Container = new Container();

cont.filters = [dropShadow];

but with dropshadow filter is scrolling lagy and slow. Is there some better way how add container with some shadows to the cell without decrease scrolling experience?

thanks

Re: DropShadow slow performance in scrolling

drop shadows on mobile devices can be slow during animation. There is a fair amount of CPU needed to create these on the fly (another reason for AIR 3.2). If the drop shadow is not be reflected off some dynamic object (e.g. text or PNG), can you create a PNG of the drop shadow shape in Gimp or Photoshop and use the PNG instead?
