Re: How to build in serial number in your app

I think actually these App World specific questions would probably be better directed to the App World Development forum.  I've seen past discussions of "dynamic licenses" and such there, so perhaps this has already been asked and answered.

Yes. When I upgraded to my Torch, BB AppWorld gave me the key for the Geocaching app I mentioned. It was the wrong key, but it still remembered it and gave it to me.

Re: How to build in serial number in your app

Thanks Peter.  Some help over there.  Still does not answer how that information (the key) regardless how it is generated or defined in the vendor portal gets pushed to the application on the device and if the application needs to verify the key each time or at regular intervals.

The basic question is:

What is app world responsible for and what is the application responsible for in terms of verify license, accepting keys, trial periods, etc.

I will poke around more on the app world forum and report back if I find something useful.

Re: How to build in serial number in your app

I confess I did it (searched that forum) briefly myself a week ago, and got nowhere.  I didn't get around to formulating a coherent question though, so maybe you can do better in that respect.
