In your example, there is no need to make that member, static.
In general, there are very few instances to make something static, except in the case where you have a singleton of a global data.

I think thats obvious jtegen - as shown above the code is trimmed down to barebones to reproduce a problem.

 

And thanks for the notes, but I already know when to use a static public label variable.  Static exists for a reason, sometimes people need to use them.

 

But yes - I'm glad I identified the issue and can now work around it.  And finally kick these two back over the fence to the AppWorld team for the next three weeks.

A lot of developers dont know when to use and when not to use static members/functions. I've seen it miss used a lot over the years.
