Load .bar on to the Simulator?

Sorry for the newb-ish question. A friend of mine passed me a .bar file for an app he's working on. I can't seem to figure out how to get this on the simulator. Flahs builder doesn't seem to want to import it, so I wasn't able to get in on the simulator that way.

Any help would be great.

Re: Load .bar on to the Simulator?

in order to install the .bar file your friend gave you, you must have installed both the simulator and the Tablet OS AIR SDK installed on your computer.

here is the link to both of them:

good luck!

Re: Load .bar on to the Simulator?

ah alrite, in that case, here is the command line you would use to get things going:

blackberry-deploy -installApp -package [name of your bar file].bar -device [your device ip] -password [your device password]

repleace the stuff with the brackets. and dont include the brackets. good luck!

Re: Load .bar on to the Simulator?

In the 0.9.3 SDK directory.  Then the /bin directory.

Re: Load .bar on to the Simulator?

Should I expect blackberry-deploy to be a bat ot have no extension?

I am finding 2 blackberry-deploy files on my system after installing the NDK and both playbook and bb10 simulators.

the files are located in the directory bbndk\host_10_0_9_404\win32\x86\usr\bin

Just to confrim, is this the proper blackberry-deploy file to run to install a BAR file on my sim?

thanks

Re: Load .bar on to the Simulator?

Each SDK has their own bin utilities. In theory there should not be a real difference between the PlayBook version and the BB10 version, but it is probably best to use the full path or create a little script file to do use the correct path for each release and build target.
