Loading our .cod files into the simulator.

Hi all,

is it possible to load our cod files into the tablet simulator?

Thanks.

Re: Loading our .cod files into the simulator.

I don´t think so. At the moment the simulator only supports Adobe AIR applications. The OS6 VM will come some time in the future. Hopefully soon...

Correct.  The current BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator does not support Java applications (COD files).  You can run BAR files created using Adobe Flash Builder and the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK.

Mark, sounds like we can also use the AIR SDK with the ADT & ADL tools (I'm trying to avoid tie-in with Flash Builder) - is that recommended in your experience with it?

You cannot use adt, but BlackBerry SDK has a similar tool called blackberry-airpackager

I personally haven't tried them, but I'm not aware of any issues manually building from a command line outside of Flash Builder.

Mark,

Can you please tell us if there is a way to test a BB Torch (OS 6.0) application to be compatible with PlayBook?

Thanks,

Anton

At this time, there is no way to test this.  The current BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator supports only Adobe AIR Applications.
