Lock auto-rotation

Hello,

I have an app and want it to stay in horizontal mode. I am using this in the xml file:

<qnx>
  <initialWindow>
    <systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
    <transparent>false</transparent>
    <version>1.0.126</version>
    <autoOrients>false</autoOrients>
    <aspectRatio>landscape</aspectRatio>
  </initialWindow>
  <publisher>xz</publisher>
  <splashscreen>splash.png</splashscreen>
  <permission>access_shared</permission>
  <icon>
  	<image>blackberry-tablet-icon.png</image>
  </icon>
</qnx>

but that app still rotates. i am using sdk 0.9.4.

Re: Lock auto-rotation

You need to upgrade to 1.0.1 of the SDK/simulator. It might be a simulator issue.

Re: Lock auto-rotation

I've always had the orientation settings in my -app.xml file, not the blackberry-tablet.xml file. Never had a problem with them on earlier simulators.

Re: Lock auto-rotation

newcomer9747: This thread is referring to how devs can lock the rotation of their own apps.

Check something like this for how you as a user can lock your device's rotation.

Re: Lock auto-rotation

And if he's referring to the PlayBook (given that this is the PlayBook forum, at least until we see AIR on QNX phones), there's a convenient icon in the system tray (title bar on home screen) to let you lock the orientation. Talk about simple! Smiley Happy
