Performance hit leaving tons of trace statements in release build

Are trace stateents actually executed when app is compiled into release build? I started always stripping them off before preparing for final release build but was wondering if there is any harm leaving them. Are they actually executed when running in release mode on the device?

Re: Performance hit leaving tons of trace statements in release build

Trace statements are included even in release builds. To omit them, add these compiler flags in Flash Builder:

-compiler.omit-trace-statements=true -compiler.debug=false

Alternatively, you can specify a config file for your project. Refer to the FB and Flex docs.
