PlayBook Keyboard with Browser-Resident Flash?

[ Edited ]

i'm building a Flash RIA which requires keyboard interaction.  however, i can't seem to get the PlayBook's keyboard to control the Flash content.  it's not textual imput, though i'm assuming that doesn't work either, rather i'm trying to control display objects by pressing the plus or minus key:

//Keyboard Event Handler
private function keyboardEventHandler(evt:KeyboardEvent):void
	{
	if	(String.fromCharCode(evt.charCode) == "+")
	...

is this normal?  if so, is there a workaround or any known official fix in the works?

Can you do a trace on the charCode that comes in when you press a key? Did you add the event listener to the stage?

Re: PlayBook Keyboard with Browser-Resident Flash?

yes, the code is correct.  the application receives keyboard input properly from all browers on my desktop, but it just doesn't work on the PlayBook's browser.

i've attempted using more common keys (A & B) but they don't work either.

at first i had assumed it was because the application was functioning in a full screen, which limits (or at least use to limit) the keys, but neither does it work without full screen activated.
