Push Data to PlayBook using BES

According to the marketing stuff the PlayBook supports "BES out of the box". I have been trying to find information regarding how it all works and if you can use the MDS simulator to communication with the PlayBook simulator.

This is a critical feature for my application as I need to wake up the application (background or not running) based on information that is pushed from my service.

Anybody know the status of this feature?

Also, as an alternative in the meantime...does anyone know if you can set an application to automatically launch at boot to listen for data in the background?

Thanks

Re: Push Data to PlayBook using BES

Hey cbartonnh,

Welcome to the forums! At the current moment push APIs are not available to use with the AIR SDK. Though it has been mentioned they are working on push APIs there hasnt been any definite time frames for it. As for the automatic start up when the OS turns on there hasnt been any talks regarding that nor any APIs for it. But it does sound like an interesting feature to add on!
