Show not common file extension in file open dialog

Hi,

I have a import/export functionality in my app. I determine the type of the file by extension e.g. mydump.ade (a=app, d=database, e=export). This works for export but I can't let my user select this file because it's not shown in file open dialog or in file explorer.

A workaround could be to use .txt but this is not what I want. My users shouldn't see (from the scratch) the file in explorer.

best regards

Re: Show not common file extension in file open dialog

Hmm, I'm not sure you exact use case for doing this but I assume that it would remain hidden. Have you looked into the invocation framework at all? It may be what you're looking for - https://developer.blackberry.com/air/documentation/invocation_framework.html

Another thing you may be able to do is store the files on a server / in the cloud.
