Signing with two different keys on same machine

I have installed the signing keys on my machine and signed an app for submission.

Now we are developing an app at orgnisation level and wish to submit that app. I wanted to confirm if, it is allowed to install two signing keys on same machine? or I would set up other machines with all the development environment.

In theory you should be OK, but give it a try. Be prepared for the worse.

Re: Signing with two different keys on same machine

That is what I want to avoid:-)

Because that app development is under tight deadline, we still have to receive the keys and I would get a chance to try signing the app only on 15th. And hence I can not take any chances and wanted to check if any-one has tried before.

I guess the best would be to set up another machine.

Agreed.  No reason to add any potential issues so close to the deadline.

Re: Signing with two different keys on same machine

hey sangram,

i would defintiely set up two machines. i believe the rule of thumb was one code signing key per computer. since installing another set of keys would override the database that was originally put into your computer, it would most likely cause a conflict.

Re: Signing with two different keys on same machine

In theory if you create multiple accounts on the same machine and sign using different key for each user, you should be fine since the database is stored under the specific user's Appdata(Windows). Hoever, I am not sure about signing with multiple keys on the same user account. It might overwrite the database as JRab stated above.

Re: Signing with two different keys on same machine

I was not able to get two keys on the same machine.  I set up a seperate VM, installed he AIR SDK and Tablet SDK and did the code-signing there.

You are not able to register more than one CSJ with the same developer key and I wasn't able to create a second developer key on the same machine. You might be able to do it if you used some scripts to swap files around, but I wasn't inclined to put that much effort into it. :smileyhappy:

Re: Signing with two different keys on same machine

BlackBerry Tablet OS code signing keys are tied o the user directory on your PC.  You should be able to install multiple keys if you setup multiple Windows/Mac accounts.

You can't have more than one set of keys installed on the same user account.

Note that this applies to keys of the same type.  You can have the Tablet OS code signing key and BlackBerry Smartphone code signing keys installed on the same user account.
