What dimensions are the splash? And it looks like yout packing/deploying via command line, is that correct? Also the file size of the image?

I tried (unsuccessfully) with images and 1024x600 images at 600x1024.

Looks like you have the app locked in as landscape, so the splash should be 1024x600. Very odd that it is this difficult. It has to be something really simple we're not seeing. Can you view/read the splash.png file in a image viewer (in other words, could the image be unreadable)?

Actually, I find this quite amusing . Who finds the error first!? Something that seems so simple...

Another guess: in your .bat-file, I see -devMode. Personally, I pack my .bar-files very often via command line, but I never used -devMode. Could you try it without it?

Also: in your app.xml you have transparent: false, but in your blackberry-tablet.xml it is set to true. Could you try to set both to false?
