UDP broadcast, ICMP

I'd like to develop a network tools application for playbook using Adobe AIR. Adobe AIR doesn't  support sending packets to UDP broadcast address. Is there any way I can do this with AIR playbook API? Also, is it possible to send ICMP packets using AIR playbook API?

I'm thinking of a workaround, using javascript, but I'd rather to use native playbook/AIR api than to use some tricks, that I don't even know if they'll work.

Re: UDP broadcast, ICMP

A quick web search for "adobe air ANE UDP packet broadcast" brought up this link, among others:

I haven't used so can't vouch for it.  But please let the forum know how it goes if you pick up someone's

ANE for doing this (or write your own).

Re: UDP broadcast, ICMP

unfortunetally it's for IOS and Android only. Also, it doesn't support broadcast (yet). But thanks for pointing me in that direction. If I'll decide to write my own ANE or adapt someones ANE for playbook, I'll share it here somewhere
