Re: What are you going to do next?

That's cool.  Maybe when I get past my current apps, I'll try my hand at a Fixel app.

Re: What are you going to do next?

My app was a bit rushed, so I hope to add many new features, i also got like a dozen or so other apps that I thought could would be useful.

My main concern now is that the playbook promotion is ending will RIM go back to the $200 fee?

Also if you did create that isn't accepted, how likely will you be to work on make another one?

Re: What are you going to do next?

Just a guess, but I'm guessing that once you are registered, you don't have to pay again for your next application.

BB takes 30% of the cut, so they get there money off of good appllications.

Re: What are you going to do next?

About the next step, I do plan to publish the app to Android and IOS.  Technically, it runs since it runs in AIR, at least the non-platform dependant features work.  But I want to figure out the legal term if Blackberry allows us to distribute QNX UI components on other platforms.  Or if anybody knows the answer.  I've tried to read the sdk license but rather find a place to ask first.

Re: What are you going to do next?

BlackBerry doesn't own QNX and I am guessing that the won't work on the Android.

You will most likely have to create an app for both, sharing what you can and then using the device specific code where needed.

Re: What are you going to do next?

Clean up my app and add in all the features/polish that I couldn't squeeze in before the deadline. Once that's done, I'm going to kick back and play with the 3DS I bought earlier in the week.

Yeah, none of the QNX components are going to work on Android or iOS because they don't have the QNX frameworks. You'll have to replace whatever QNX components you use with common or device specific components for whatever device you're making the release for.

I would like to look into porting my application for other devices as well, but when that time comes I'll have to replace a couple of QNX components in my app. I tried to avoid using them too much for that specific reason though. I think I have a few alert dialogs here and there and a picker, but most of the rest is just AIR.

Re: What are you going to do next?

Personally, I'd like to work on another app that I got started on, as well as add features to my existing apps...

But my wife wants her husband back for a bit, so I'll be taking a rest for a bit :smileyhappy:

Didn't RIM Acquire QNX?  http://www.qnx.com/news/pr_4114_1.html
