Don't take this as "the norm". I've written about 6 apps on Playbook and while this one issue has certainly caused me grief, most things "just work". Especially taking into account that you can now deploy to other platforms without modifying your code in any way, it certainly makes these missteps easier to take. And, as you move forward, you'll move past these issues quicker (same with any new app dev), and be able to push things out quicker. Also, once the new 2.0 OS is pushed later this month, this should be a non-issue as well.
