signing app problems

[ Edited ]

Hi all,

I'm signing my app as it written in

http://docs.blackberry.com/en/developers/deliverables/23959/Configure_app_signing_from_cmd_line_1463...

When I call

blackberry-signer -csksetup -cskpass cskpass.csk

file cskpass.csk is not created, when I call the same again it outputs

CSK file already exists. Use -cskdelete to delete first.

but I see no file in folder? where is it created.

If I do

blackberry-signer -register -csjpin <PIN> -cskpass cskpass.csk <CSJ_file>

after above commands I get

blackberry-signer -register -csjpin ******* -cskpass cskpass.csk ******.csj barsigner error: server error: The HMAC information in the registration request is not valid. The likely cause of this problem is not entering the correct CSI PIN.

but the PIN is correct. Anyone knows where the problem is?

Re: signing app problems

.csk file is created in the following folders:

C:\Document and Settings\<name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Research In Motion folder (in Windows®)

~\Library\Research In Motion folder (in Mac OS).

Re: signing app problems

Thank you!!! Any ideas about:

blackberry-signer -register -csjpin ******* -cskpass cskpass.csk ******.csj barsigner error: server error: The HMAC information in the registration request is not valid. The likely cause of this problem is not entering the correct CSI PIN.

It says CSI, but I'm sure it means CSJ. The error message seems pretty clear - the PIN you are entering in the -csjpin parameter isn't the same pin you used when you request the code-signing key.

It always possible it could be something else and you've already triple checked it, but ya gotta check the obvious first. :smileyhappy:

Re: signing app problems

@billfost, he already came to this conclusion and said it was the correct pin. I'm not saying he is right about it being the correct pin because I have argued to high heaven I am using the right password for days on other sites only to find out I was using the wrong one. It is easy here to because you have so many different ones to remember.

Re: signing app problems

You can only register the key once. Is it possible that you've already registered it? You may be all set up and ready to sign the BAR file and not realize it. You might try signing a BAR to see if it works.

Re: signing app problems

This means you entered an incorrect PIN.  If you do not recall your PIN, you can choose a new one and order a new key here:  https://www.blackberry.com/SignedKeys/

The error should say CSJ, not CSI.  I will send this to our development team to fix in a future release.
