time measurement

Is there a way to get something like the current value of a timer, like a system time?

Or is there a possibility to create a timer which would be increased every millisecond?

Thanks for your help!

Re: time measurement

Use this: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/Date.html#time , it will return number of miliseconds since Epoch. Of course you must create new Date object to have this number always fresh.

Re: time measurement

hey thanks gluth,

you pointed me in the right direction.

I found the following:

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/utils/package.html#getTimer...

which really should work.

I will try it later and report how it worked.

Cheers.
