10.2.1 deployment utf8 codc error??

Hi,

I upgrade my Z10 to 10.2.1.1057 and try to deploy my android project to the new OS. The key is my existed android app using native sdk to develop and OS 10.2.1 support that...

Unfortunately, when I deploy that into my device, the error message shows:

result::failure 500 'utf8' codec can't decode byte 0xe5 in position 119: invalid continuation byte
com.qnx.bbt.deploy.Deploy$DeployException: result::failure 500 'utf8' codec can't decode byte 0xe5 in position 119: invalid continuation byte

I try to change the device langue into "english", but it still not works. And advise??:smileyfrustrated:

Hey millionasia,

Just for clarity, which very of the command-line tools are you using? You are attempting to deploy a BAR file, correct?

I use the latest Eclipse plug-in and just check "sign" and "Deploy" to deploy the BAR to my Z10.

millionasia,

Would you be able to try repackaging/deploying using our latest Command-Line Tools?

millionasia,

I have yet to reproduce your issue as I have no problems when I deploy.

Watch our microsite as we'll be releasing a newer 10.2.1 version that you can try out here shortly.

The only difference I notice is actual dname, id, and version are all blank in the output that you posted.

Is it possible that you were trying to deploy a different version of the application (potentially unsigned)?

Re: 10.2.1 deployment utf8 codc error??

I just read somewhere that someone took out his/her SIM card and it worked. Guess what? it worked for me too. Still don't know how, but hey it works. I am so happy right now. (I also have a Taiwanese SIM carrier.)

I hope that helps!
