I recently released an update to an app to access the device contacts. It works great on Android Tablets. I saw the link https://developer.blackberry.com/android/tools/roadmap/ and assumed that it would work on BlackBerry PlayBook also... However my customers who downloaded the update starting complaining about this functionality.. I always use the online packaging tool and it didnt show any incompatibility issues...

Is this something that would work once the PlayBook OS 2.1 is released?

Hello,

The Android Runtime roadmap is specific for the BlackBerry 10 Beta. The Contact support doesn't give you access to device contacts, but rather allows information to be added to a new or existing contact using the native BlackBerry 10 contacts application. Deeper integration with device contacts will be something we are looking at in future versions.
