Re: Error Peer not authenticated

Hi:

So at this stage I have installed version 2.0 for the 3rd time. I was able to upload applications onto the playbook after the first install, but the android apps would not start (black application loading screen would just linger "forever"). This is why I did a "security wipe" which left me with only the browser. So then reinstalled 1.07 via usb, and later 2.0. After the second install of 2.0 was not able to load anything onto the playbook.

1) Does the error happen for all applications and debug tokens, or just specific ones (error is intermittent).

The error happens when installing any bar application.

2) The command line you are using (please try to attempt on the command prompt).

I use the command

java -Xmx512M -jar "CommandLineTools/lib/BarDeploy.jar" -installApp  -device 192.168.1.191  -password mypass  ./apps/kindle.bar

3) The exact output you see (command line output preferred).

Error: peer not authenticated

4) Size of the BAR file you are trying to load.

I've tried different ones. For example:
494K imdb.bar
4.4M kindle.bar

5) Number of files in the BAR file (you can open these in WinZip).

probably fairly standard. Here is an example of the kindle app (user/group removed):
ls -latr *
-rw-r--r-- 1  4540974 2011-10-26 21:47 kindle.bar

META-INF:
total 28
-rw-r--r-- 1   607 2011-10-18 20:19 RDK.SF
-rw-r--r-- 1   280 2011-10-18 20:19 RDK.EC
-rw-r--r-- 1  1338 2011-10-18 20:19 MANIFEST.MF
-rw-r--r-- 1   607 2011-10-18 20:19 AUTHOR.SF
-rw-r--r-- 1   675 2011-10-18 20:19 AUTHOR.EC
drwxr-xr-x 4  4096 2011-10-26 21:47 ..
drwxr-xr-x 2  4096 2011-10-26 21:47 .

android:
total 4828
-rw-r--r-- 1  4915762 2011-10-18 19:41 kindle.apk
drwxr-xr-x 3     4096 2011-10-26 21:47 res
drwxr-xr-x 4     4096 2011-10-26 21:47 ..
drwxr-xr-x 3     4096 2011-10-26 21:47 .

6) Are you seeing this in version 2.0 and 1.0.7 or just 2.0?

I only tried uploading in 2.0, as am particularly interested in android apps.

thanks for your help.

Re: Error Peer not authenticated

I had the same issue, a security wipe on 2.0 solved my problems but left me without certain applications / icons.

I'm going to try a backup, THEN a wipe, then a restore if I have the same problem again when I reload 2.0 after downgrading.

Re: Error Peer not authenticated

I am having the same issues as discussed in this thread trying to install Andriod Apps on the playbook 2 beta.

I tried a secuirty wipe several time to restore the playbook to factory settings; however, whenever I try to connect via any playbook tools to the playbook, I am getting Error: Peer Not Authenticated. I am running OS 2 beta (latest).

Any help would be appreciated as it is been very frustrating trying to get this up and running.

Re: Error Peer not authenticated

I was able to solve my issue by installing the playbook tools on another laptop.

Re: Error Peer not authenticated

I'm hitting this issue also.

Issue: Getting "Error: peer not authenticated" error when trying to install a bar file to a Z10 device

1. I am issuing this command using a bar file that I successfully signed
blackberry-deploy -installApp -password mypasswordhere -device 192.168.1.9 -package C:\myapps\Test3.bar

2. I get this error:
Error: peer not authenticated

Notes:
The bar file is this size: 1.10 MB
The Z10 has OS 10.0.9.2372
I enabled developer mode
