I got the dreaded message : File bundle <> has been rejected. Package ID is required for all .bar file. If this is an upgrade, Package ID must match Package ID in original file bundle.

So I'm trying to add a new release to my application, and I keep getting the message: "File bundle <name> has been rejected. Package ID is required for all .bar file. If this is an upgrade, Package ID must match Package ID in original file bundle."

I'm using the same package, same signature and everything.  The only thing that has changed is the actual code for the program.  It accepted my first release just fine.  My second release gave me that message at first, but then let me upload it, but now for my third release, it keeps giving me that message.  How do I fix it?  I don't still have a copy of the original .bar file, and I can't download it from the App World site, so I can't compare the package ID, but I don't know how it would have changed.   Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

You need to create a new app. I had the same problem.

I just renamed the old product appending "delete - this is broken" and created a new product with the original product name.

Here's the problem: signing was the only reason given for the app being rejected.  Otherwise it would count for the Blackberry Playbook promotion, and they said if it was rejected, I just had to fix the problem and it would still count... The problem is, if I can't fix the signing without creating a new product, how do I still qualify for the promotion?  How will they know that the new product (which will have been created after the promotion ended), is actually the correctly signed update to the product that they said should qualify?

I don't want to create a new product until this gets answered, and I've had a trouble ticket in about this for about a week with no response.   Can anyone on the forum help?   Thanks!

You can still submit a new product to get the free PlayBook. They extended the deadline to March 2nd.

That's a relief!  I somehow missed the announcement, but I just confirmed it on the promotion conditions page.  I just submitted my app as a new product, so hopefully everything will be good now.   Thanks!
