Start service at boot

HI,

i have successfuly ported my android app  and it runs fine on my playbook (updated to the latest release).

On the android platform, my app starts at boot by using a BOOT_COMPLETED broadcast receiver.

I checked the API Support page and BOOT_COMPLETED is not listed inside the unsopported api permissions list.

Any clue to solve the problem ?

thanks

marco

Re: Start service at boot

Hi,

I installed Skype (Preview) available from AppWorld.

I noticed that it starts when the device boots and it seems the Android version ported to the bb10 platform

Could you share information (if possible) on how to implement such a feature ?

Thanks

Marco

Re: Start service at boot

Hello,

Unfortunately, BOOT_COMPLETED is not broadcasted for 3rd party applications. This is listed in the unsupported intents page in our docs:

http://developer.blackberry.com/android/apisupport/unsupportedapi_blackberry10_intents.html

Thanks,

Matt

Re: Start service at boot

Thanks Matt

I know that the boot_completed intent is not propagated in bb10.

Any trick to achieve the same result ?
