We are not actively doing any Android ports because we think Cascades/QT is defiinitely the way to go for BB10 apps, but the following suggestion came up today and I thought maybe it would be interesting to share this.
Android is pretty flexible when it comes to theming controls, both system wide and per app. With only a couple of extra xml and png assets you can completely change the look of buttons, dialogs etc.
Why doesn't BlackBerry provide some theming assets to make Android ports look more like BB10 apps?
I do understand that the Android runtime is using the default 'Gingerbread' theme to make most unmodified Android compatible, so doing a system wide system might not be the way to go.
But I think having a set of assets that you can simply plug-in to your .apk would help a lot to improve the perceived quality of the Android apps as well as the whole BB10 system.
