We've recently discovered that our BlackBerry PlayBook and BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha simulators fail to boot in VMWare Player 5.0. We are working a fixes as we speak. In the mean time avoid this upgrade to continue using these simulators.
It's not a simple thing to ask people to go back to v4 when you've upgraded all your vm's already and v5 is such an improvement that you'd want to stick with it. People do use VMware for things more important than you.
