Announcing BlackBerry Enterprise Service version 10.1

BlackBerry® Enterprise Service 10 version 10.1 is now available. 

 

Product Overview

BlackBerry 10 features and apps work together seamlessly to deliver the ultimate end user experience. And with BlackBerry® Enterprise Service 10 version 10.1, you can easily deploy, manage, secure and control BYOD and corporate devices to truly mobilize your business.

    • BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 allows Android devices to connect to an organization’s network through the BlackBerry Infrastructure using a single port behind the organization's firewall for secure device management traffic
  • Reporting and dashboards
    • Reporting dashboards allow you to have a high-level overview of your user and device information. You can hover over areas of each dashboard to see the specific detail you are over. You can also drill-down into the dashboard to get additional details. From the drill-down report you can export the information to a .csv file or you can click on a user name to view user details or perform administrative tasks.
  •  Migration paths
    • Installation and upgrades: You can use the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 version 10.1 setup application to install the BlackBerry Device Service, Universal Device Service, and BlackBerry Management Studio products. Blackberry Enterprise Service 10 supports installation on a computer that hosts BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 SP4. You can upgrade to BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 from the following BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 components:
      • BlackBerry Device Service 6.2
      • Universal Device Service 6.2 SP1 and later
    • BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 does not support upgrading both the BlackBerry Device Service and Universal Device Service when these products are both installed on the same server.
  • Single sign on
    • Allows you to log in to BlackBerry Management Studio and they are automatically logged in to all the services associated with it.
    • Administrators can enable or disable single sign on. By default it is turned off.

Licensing

Organizations must purchase new licenses before they can activate users in BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 version 10.1. BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.1 uses the following new license types:

  • EMM - Corporate - You can activate BlackBerry devices, Android devices and iOS devices. BlackBerry 10 devices or BlackBerry PlayBook tablets use BlackBerry Balance technology with this license type. Android and iOS devices using ActiveMicrosoft ActiveSync
  • EMM - Corporate for BlackBerry - You can activate BlackBerry 10 devices and BlackBerry PlayBook tablets that use BlackBerry Balance technology.

Devices connecting to BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 version 10.1 require a 10.1 client access license (CAL).
