- Facebook Places
- BlackBerry smartphone users can check in, add a Place, tag friends, add a comment and view where friends have checked in to. Facebook Places uses the BlackBerry smartphone GPS technology to determine users’ locations (The GPS must be enabled to acquire the location). Integration with BlackBerry® Maps allows users to view the location of a Facebook Place on a map to see exactly where it is and check out the surrounding area. And users can get directions to and from a Facebook Place simply by clicking on the map image
- Dedicated Inbox
- Users can now check new messages in the dedicated Facebook inbox. Facebook messages are grouped in chronological order, so users can view sent or received messages and message threads, and reply to messages right from their inbox. The Facebook Messages inbox on the BlackBerry smartphone is now also synchronized with the Facebook inbox on the web, so deleted and opened items now all stay in sync. The app also pulls up 30 existing Facebook messages upon first log in, so recent activity is all there at a glance.
- Search for People and Pages
- Users can find friends using People search, then check out their profile picture and mutual friends. They can even enlarge their profile picture to make sure they’re adding the right person. Then, send them a friend request, message, or even a poke. Using the Pages search function, users can find and view page profiles and ‘like’ pages they’re interested in. They can also view their pages from the Friends list.
