Facebook Chat

Facebook Chat is fully integrated with BlackBerry smartphones, so users can start a conversation within the Facebook app or right from the message list on their device. Users never need to worry about missing a chat message since they’ll be notified of new chat messages even when they’re not using the Facebook app.

Brand New User Interface

Facebook® for BlackBerry® smartphones features a sleek new design which includes a new navigation grid and a notifications bar that borrows from the BlackBerry 6 “Today View” which summarizes all Facebook notifications, Messages, Friend Requests and Chats.

Enhanced Profiles

The new Profile interface now provides Wall, Info, and Photo tabs for an even better browsing experience. New to v2.0 is the ability to view key information on Profiles and Pages, such as contact info, basic info like birthdays, hometown and relationship status, and likes and interests. Plus, users can discover which friends they have in common with another user with the Mutual Friends feature. Users can also now view a user’s Friends List from their Profile if their privacy settings permit this.

Improved News Feed

Now users can scroll effortlessly through their News Feed without accidentally clicking ‘Like’ and interact with their friend’s posts in just two clicks. Users click the ‘More’ button (+) to ‘Like’ or add a comment to a post. The enhanced publisher functionality allows users to post photos to their Wall, add an update, or check in to a Facebook Place right from the News Feed.

Redefined Notifications

Users will never miss a beat in their social life now that they’re notified of polled items (that is, notifications that aren’t delivered through BlackBerry® push technology), such as ‘Likes’ and Event Wall posts.

WiFi Support

Users can stay connected with friends and enjoy the full functionality of the Facebook app for BlackBerry smartphones while in a Wi-Fi hotspot.

BlackBerry Core Integration

Facebook for BlackBerry is integrated everywhere users expect it to be, like the BlackBerry message list, BlackBerry Contacts app, BlackBerry Calendar, BlackBerry Browser, and is now also integrated with BBM™. You can now share Facebook posts with BBM contacts and invite friends to BBM when you come across a PIN posted on Facebook.
