Blackberry Professional Software at WES?

I wasn't able to attend WES this year, and there have been lots of rumors flying back and forth about the future of the Blackberry Professional Software (which to my knowledge has received no updates).

Did BPS have a presence at WES or is it officially dead?

You can be certain it is not being given any life support.

Re: Blackberry Professional Software at WES?

BPS reflects RIM changes to T-support. They want BES to be a flat platform, with the only change being T-Support if you ask me. Is this a good idea? I couldn't tell you, but its not uncommon in the industry.

Re: Blackberry Professional Software at WES?

BPS is end of life.

The idea is if you ask me, that BES can facilitate controlling multiple factions of BlackBerry platforms, from small business to enterprise without having to have different versions. BPS and BES were generally the same thing anyway. There were only very small differences between the two. This reflects the recent changes that were made to T-Support. The old system had a tiered system for support, now they are going with more of a standard model. So basiclly, BPS is now BES, but it was always BES so it won't be that much of a change.

Re: Blackberry Professional Software at WES?

Yup familiar with the underpinnings, however the cost to get in to BPS was much, much lower than a full blown BES cost... are they adjusting the pricing of the BES for low #'s of users?

We'll see, they haven't said anything yet. That would be nice, but I doubt it. I feel your pain.

I did knot see one single sign with BPS on it.

Everything was about BES 5.0

I did ask about BPS and got the rolling of the eyes or a chuckle here and there.
