.82 and .85 are the same OS, just different radio files for different regions/carriers.

Look at Settings > About > OS > OS version.

It's that longer number which means something.

 

And yes, one carrier might have .82 on a STL100-3 device, another carrier on another model Z10 in the UK on a STL100-2 device, and another might be .90 on a STL100-1 device in the middle east.

 

But, it's the same base OS. Different software release number due to the specific Z10 model variant, carrier and/or radio files included.

Try this process first:

Close Link.
Disconnect and on your Z10, perform a Security Wipe. during the security wipe pull the battery and interrupt it.

Connect your Z10 to the PC via the USB cable and use the PC browser to go to www.blackberry.com/upgrades

At that point, replace the battery and you should be given an option to load the OS.
