Request New feature - Default Contacts work

Hi all,

OS 10 lets us add a lot of different accounts in our phone.

We have the possibility to chose default Email, Default Calendar but not default contacts.

Would it be possible to add this to as now default NEW contact location is local on the phone.

This is then not synced with our BES infrastructure and so if the user loses his phone or looks in his outlook he won't find any added contact.

I know you can chose personal or work when adding a contact but users often forget this.

Thank you

best regards

Hi alexdelen,

When creating a contact on the BlackBerry Z10, you can select Work from the top of the contact edit screen. This will synchronize the contact wirelessly with the BES.

Thanks.

My apologies! :smileyhappy:

Unfortunately, you can't set the default contacts on the BlackBerry Z10, however, I thank you for your feedback and I will forward this onto our product teams.

Thanks!

Re: Request New feature - Default Contacts work

Dear all,

please add a new request to this request.

We should be able to copy or move a contact from the local contact store to the Work (BES store)

Again if a user loses his phone he loses all his contacts that are not synched.

Also when a contact is received my VCF or by mail or whatever. Give the option where to save the contact. now it is saved by default in local contacts.

Thank you.

Best regards

Re: Request New feature - Default Contacts work

Greetings to all,

I totally agree with u about this I am facing a a lot of difficulties with adding a new contact to the work place.

I lot many contact which I though they where saved automatically but they where not.

Now even I can't add new contact to sycrolonized email. When I add a contact it is automatically saved in the phone memory.

Re: Request New feature - Default Contacts work

Is there any plans to add default contact save location to blackberry devices. It is causing trouble with our users because they are not supposed to save contacts to locally or to the sim card. Disabling from saving them locally or to the sim would be even better.

Thanks
