Z10 encryption

Hello Guys,

Is there a way to cypher manually the content of the Z10 ? I took a look on the parameters and I can't see anything on that.

Thanks.

Re: Z10 encryption

The Z10 Help guide said:

Turn on encryption
1. On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen.
2. Tap Settings > Security > Encryption.
3. Do any of the following:
• Set the Device Encryption switch to On.
• Set the Media Card Encryption switch to On.

If you haven't seen any way of encrypting does it mean that in fact the Z10 would need the BES to encrypt the device?

Or is there another strange necessary condition?

My question is, can e encrypt the Z10 in standalone, that is without BES and Balance?

Re: Z10 encryption

I don't believe it's dependant upon BES activation, but I do know it definitely does require the latest BB10 device software.

Once updated I had the encryption settings (which were missing previously).

On Bell atleast, it's listed as version 10.0.10.672

BES 5.0.4
BES 10.2
Exchange 2010
SQL2008R2
