I have a developer phone I got at CES hackathan. It is now prompting me for a password when I power it up. Question: what is the password?
Also, I do have an app in the bb10 store I completed. Is there some way to trade this phone infor a real production device?

You need to have a password when you switched on Developer Mode so that's the one you should use.
You could check your computer for any scripts with the password (most likely deployment scripts).
Otherwise, type in the wrong password 10 times and it will wipe the device. This could be a pain to recover because with the Dev Alpha, it wipes EVERYTHING clean. Check other threads on how to recover from a wiped Dev Alpha.

I've tried the only password I have ever used for this blackberry device and it did not work.
How about the question regarding replacing this alpha device with a production one?
anyone else with suggestions? Is there a better place to post questions like this? I thought this was the official place to ask blackberry questions, not just each other.

There are some BlackBerry staff which monitors this forum but I don't think they are on all the time. You can wait until Monday and see if anyone answers.
I believe that the deadline for the exchange was back in February 28th.

I just type blackberry as the password and now I've use up 5 of 10 (it did not log me in).
Also, my app was accepted in February. I'm just asking about getting my dev phone working since I now have an app in the store and can not test it.

If you don't know the password that was used, you can keep guessing. After the 10th try the device will be wiped and password removed. Then you can reload the OS using the autoloader file available here: https://developer.blackberry.com/blackberry10deval
