My Device: BlackBerry Z10 Ltd Edition

Re: BB10 updates for Limited Edition devices

Sorry, nothing yet. Folks are working internally to hash out the details.

Any idea of timescales? The number of bugs affecting the Limited Edition is already getting annoying (Google calendar, nicely deleting items when using Gmail, nicely archiving items when using Gmail, battery usage, unread indicators when peeking but nothing unread in the Hub), especially when it's known that some are resolved in the later firmware.

TBH, it's a little worrying that BlackBerry is so dependent on the carriers to ship firmware updates that you hadn't already thought about how to get software updates to devices bought at full cost & unsubsidized, were given to developers, or were Limited Edition.

My Device: lets say: I don't own CDMA Variants

Re: BB10 updates for SE devices -

Having the same problem...

Got the 100-1 version, but in Austria they only sell 100-3 versions. Unable to update the OS.

BlackBerry has all the PIN/IMEI numbers for the Limited (Special) Editions, so I'm confident they can handle this issue.

Kind regards

Peter

From "Got the 100-1 version" I'm pretty sure he already has an LE. STL100-1 is one of Z10's variants.

Re: BB10 updates for SE devices -

Same here.

I have a prepaid card form a carrier (e+) who does not support Z10.

Update via browser or BB-link is not working.

Now i could buy a second simm-card from an other carrier  - only to update the OS or wait until BB provides a solution.

It depends on how much time BB needs for the the solution.

Are there any news, so i can make a decision?

Re: BB10 updates for SE devices -

Or you could simply order a free prepaid SIM card from a carrier that supports the Z10 (like http://www.o2-freikarte.de/).
With an o2 card inserted I was offered the 10.0.10.90 update immediately.

Re: BB10 updates for SE devices -

@biggerCC I have tried that - but so far - have not found any of the networks willing to sign me up from another country and ship any SIM to me.... also - 10.0.10.90 is somehow outdated - and there are so many bugfixes in every update now that we need access to the most recent...

Re: BB10 updates for SE devices -

My reply was specifically targeted towards georg22 as he seems to be located in Germany (unless E+ operates somewhere else too).
However you might be able to buy a cheap prepaid SIM from eBay - like I do when travelling abroad.

10.0.10.90 (software version) = 10.0.10.690 (operating system version).
