I played with one of the DA-Cs in the big boxes on day 2
I'd already made a Q10 / DA-C version before Amsterdam anyway as soon as the specs for the screen came out
Tidied up the IF a tad and submitted hours after the email got here ![]()
I'm fortunate - my app is res-agnostic so I just had to shove some stuff around
I think we'll get another port-a-thon in a few months after we get the DA-Cs with anther trade-up to a Q10 for this one
At least, I hope so ![]()
For anyone who ain't tried it it's like a bold / whatever but with a 720x720 display. They KB is as tactile as we expect and a pleasure to use
Something I'm unsure of is that when submitting apps in Dec / Jan we had no idea what size the screen was - this means that apps marked as Q10 before announce won't work
I presume (hope) they've switched off all the Q10 tick-boxes from pre-launch

Hi peardox,
About a couple of things you said:
1. They had announced the screen sizes a long time ago, so I'm not sure if you just mean you weren't aware of it, or if you meant something else. See http://devblog.blackberry.com/2012/08/blackberry-1
2. I didn't think the Q10 checkboxes for submissions had even shown up before launch. After all, before launch day everyone was referring to it as the X10, right? I don't think there's anything they needed to have switched off...

Slightly off topic but...
I must have missed (1) <soz>
(2) Very slightly before launch they definitely listed a [something] 10 that wasn't a Z
(3) There's no way to check a release as to devices submitted for ![]()

For 2, I'll take your word for it. If they were letting us do that at the time, I doubt they've unchecked anything for us since, as I said, the information about screen size had been provided.
For 3, actually there is:
1. Go to Manage Products.
2. Click the magnifying glass icon under Releases.
3. Click the pencil icon next to the release of interest.
4. Choose the Add Release Version tab.
5. Click the pencil icon in the Device Support column.

Nope (3)
I'm talking about PAST releases (I am SO far off topic here)

Cool
Yeah - mine works a bit diffo
Vendor Portal needs a manual ![]()
Finally managed to check them and can say with certainty that only my deliberate Q10 release is marked as such (whew)
Handy off-topic read guys but a bit hard to find the right icon to press in my case
Have yourself a like peter9477 (should have it in a thread so I could mark it solved)

I also received the e-mail with deadlines/etc. I sbmitted an app that I tested on Emulator, it was even approved (!) but how do I know whether they actually noticed that app? No e-mail confirmation, nothing
Or there will be another e-mail later?

In the e-mail that you received they say that you don't have to do anything, except "submit a Q10 qualifying app before Feb 28. .... Once you have submitted you will receive an e-mail in early March with more information on how to claim your BB DevAlpha C."
They also added for more information visit: https://developer.blackberry.com/offers/devalphac
William (PS. this is only for BB jamsterdam visitors).

vdveld, oh, I should read e-mails more carefully next time
Indeed, it mentioned early March. Thanks for pointing that out
