Dev Alpha B notification

Well, this is somewhat pointless

They've just told me I've won a DA-B

I've got a Z10 LE and a DA-C already

Why would I want a DA-B, particularly as we're told they're time-bombed

Unless they're not time bombed I suppose

Re: Dev Alpha B notification

Why didn't I get one! I made 20 apps.

Though I've only been paid for 1 :-s

It said this payment may only be a partial payment.

Did everyone else already recieve full payment for the last-port-a-thon?

Re: Dev Alpha B notification

For last chance I got nothing so far, except Milestone mail which will be paid at some point in the future (their words).

Re: Dev Alpha B notification

They told me I'm getting for the 9 I did

Guess that will happen soon if they're doing DA-Bs

Same as what I've seen... was told which ones are applicable, but nothing yet about payment. Not concerned...

Re: Dev Alpha B notification

Good to know, I'm assuming I'm not getting a DevAlpha because I had previously won one in another port-a-thon.

P.S. Peardox I've changed sides, I started doing cascades last week and I'm loving it. The best thing is you can still use Javascript for 90% of the programming if you want.

My Device: Dev Alpha

Re: Dev Alpha B notification

You could always use it with more experimental firmware which you may not want to put on your LE. Or don't update it and see if your app is backward compatible.

I used to do that with my Apple devices when I wanted to test my app out with multiple OS versions.

If it blows up, use it as a paperweight. Not sure if the battery is compatible with the Z10.

Re: Dev Alpha B notification

I've just noticed in the official FAQ that the Dev Alpha B is no longer time bombed, just no longer supported after June 30. The Dev Alpha A is not supported as of now:

"If you've updated to the 10.1 SDK OS build, your device will continue to work beyond the June 30th date, with no imposed expiry date embedded in the OS.

The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha A hardware will continue to be officially unsupported and the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha B hardware will join those same ranks on June 30th, but if you want to continue to developing apps against those devices beyond that date, you're welcome to do so."
