Re: Incorrect LEs sent out in EMEA region??

I also received that email and think it's really nice that they offer this swap – it was a free device, so they would not have to care (other certainly companies wouldn't :smileywink:).

I will definitely trade it for another device, even though my contract currently doesn't include LTE, but possibly sometime in the future it will. And I'm lucky enough to have a lot of other devices I can use until the LE returns (that's the beauty of being a developer, you have access to all different kinds of devices :smileywink:).

Re: Incorrect LEs sent out in EMEA region??

Sadly I'm still waiting for confirmation

I would urge you not to blindly send your device back - just in case

It is known that Africa is targeting us

Obviously - I could be part of the Scam (if it exists) so I'll try to get a mod to post

Sorry I can't do this faster

Re: Incorrect LEs sent out in EMEA region??

Currently, all people I know that got such a mail are all sporting a STL100-1. I haven't heard of any owner with other models getting such a mail.

Re: Incorrect LEs sent out in EMEA region??

I've emailed developer relations asking whether I can keep the back - they said no, but apparently there might be an opportunity to swap it when it is delivered - so it sounds like the delivery driver may do an 'on the door' swap, meaning you won't be deviceless.

I'm only guessing this based on the email I was sent, so this might not actually happen - but would be good if it does!

Re: Incorrect LEs sent out in EMEA region??

My concern is over the number of devices allowed on the BB world account. I believe this is 5 and you cannot remove devices. I currently have 2 playbooks, the Z10 LE, the DAB that was returned for the Z10 and the DAC. A new Z10 will not be able to be linked to the account unless anyone knows how to deauthorise devices off the account.

I will return mine though just in case I ever want to use LTE (and EE decide to make their prices more reasonable or some of the other providers finally get their act together)

Re: Incorrect LEs sent out in EMEA region??

I already have 6 accounts connected to my BB account and I can see all of them in the webstore of BB World.
Because some are dev devices (which I don't have anymore), it would be nice to know how to deauthorize them, even though they don't block any new devices.

Re: Incorrect LEs sent out in EMEA region??

@peardox, I was pretty sure it was legit, because they said to contact jamzonesupport@blackberry.com If it was a scam, they would probably have told us to reply directly. And I already knew the jamzonesupport mail address, because I've used it in the past. (well, actually, then it was the @rim.com version)

A like is always appreciated,
but a nomination for BB Elite even more :-)

@prardox, it is not a scam. Africa is not related to this. But you're welcome to wait and see.

Re: Incorrect LEs sent out in EMEA region??

Just got the feedback on my mail from yesterday:

"

Hello,

I don’t have the full details on how the swap will occur and the timelines as this is being done by an external vendor.  However I can say that you will need to return the old one as you received it before you receive the new one, no exceptions.

You are welcome to keep the one you have as for the upgrade issue we are working on a solution so I able to comment at this time.

Thanks,

Melanie"
