Hopefully I can make phone calls with it unlike the dev alpha device

Why does the device having a different color mean it can't be used on Verizon?

Verizon doesn't do things like the LE BB10 device. Look at the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, then look at the same phone on Verizon to see what I mean. Verzon took a Nexus and crippled it. They removed a preloaded Google app, replaced it with their bloatware, slapped 4G LTE branding on it and made it to where it is currently three updates behind all other Nexus devices.
Verizon has to approve the phones that go on their network. So that explains all the issues with the Galaxy Nexus. For a phone to be on Verizon, the phone has to have Verizon apps, Verizon branding and Verizon tested and approved software updates. If Verizon wouldn't make an exception for Google, why would they make them for RIM? And why would Verizon go through the trouble of testing, approving, branding and then bloatwaring a device that they will never ever be able to sell to coustomers? Seriously, why would Verizon do those things when they have nothing to really gain from it. It's not like Verizon would be able to lock you into a contract from a free phone you was sent from a developer promotion.

That depends. I sent my sister an unlocked Verizon Bold 9930. Works fine for her in the Netherlands with a GSM sim ![]()

The only thing I can confirm about the LE device is that it will take a while before it will be out. If you are developing still, keep your dev alpha with you for longer before sending it in. The evangelists haven't seen it yet, but note that it will indeed be noticable from a regular Z10. They can't get them (so you shouldn't see them with one).
Right now I am thinking blinged out or just plain RED. ![]()
