Number swaps?

Stupid idea time...

My original Z10 LE was #1950 - this has special meaning to me for several reasons

The EU Swapout means I now have #7006 (can't see that being desirable)

Oh - I'm after #1963 if you have it PM me!!!

A slightly whacky idea comes to mind

Lets start a swap the number system - OK 7006 is of no use to anyone but whoever has 1963 probably has some issue they would like solved - example...

#1963 wants to get an app working but is missing some vital info/knowledge. It is possible that I know how to solve this - straight swap. If I don't know the answer I may well know someone who does and wants a better number - so I can trade with them.

It's a flimsly bit of plastic you can buy for a couple of bucks while in transit

Re: Number swaps?

I haven't got the foggiest idea what you're talking about with this. Can you explain further please?

Re: Number swaps?

If you've got a Z10 LE (the red one) take the back off it

Underneath where is says Special Edition next to where it says Blackberry Developer at the bottom there is a number

The numbers are unique and obviously of special meaning to some people - like 1963 to me

The numbers are, I imagine, in the order of delivery to developers - Canada was first, then USA, then EMEA and finally Asia / Oz / Japan

My first was 1950, my replacement (UK mis-delivery swap) is 7006

I'd have thought you'd know exactly what I was talking about with that many posts

Re: Number swaps?

I know what the serial number in the LE is. I don't understand what the whole "number swaps" thing is about. And quantity of posts is no help if none of them are clear. ;-)

Re: Number swaps?

While the number two does describe a quantity it is not applicable to this thread

The idea was clearly described and open for discussion

I love the way some people have to spoil everything

Re: Number swaps?

Whoa, sorry to rain on your parade dude. I honestly couldn't figure out what the concept was that you were trying to get across. I'll unsubscribe and stay out of your way from now on. Sorry I "spoiled" everything... wasn't intentional.

Re: Number swaps?

Feel free to contribute if you have anything constructive to add

I'm sure you can add to my idea (OK it may not be the best idea ever - worth discussing though)
