That is the BlackBerry Elite battery door  It was given to people in the Elite program. Ive noticed that there seems to be a few different versions of this device's content. One person got a holster with the phone, another person got the phone and a Glass dev alpha trophy, while another person got just the phone.  

Hopefully we get some clarification of what comes with the device. I especially want to know if i will need to purchase a holster or if one is included.

i also notice the LE have different battery, simcard n sdcard position. Why go all the trouble with that?

its the same battery but it does seem to have different sim and sd card positioning

i am ok with that but i just hope they gave it the guts of a z10 though

same i just wish they could please start shipping the devices to devs cause i am so jealous of everyone who were able to go, i wasnt able to cause of school even though i have invite from BlackBerry

As long as it has the same (or better) specs of the Z10, then I really don't care which hardware they use. However I hope this is "new" hardware, and they don't send us recycled AlphaB hardware...

this is why LE is not available for verizon, because it's using TI OMAP. so i guess all LE is Dev alpha B after all. bummer!

can you confirm how much RAM dev alpha B got? is it 2GB?
