In that case, would it be possible to have the official BB10 device shipped directly since there is no point in sending a bricked device across the atlantic and back only to send another device?
The device won't be bricked at launch. The Limited Edition devices also won't be available until 6-8 weeks after launch. So there will be time for you to use the Dev Alpha.

I just received an email saying I've been approved to receive a Dev Alpha. Is it possible to wait for the Limited Edition device rather than accept the Dev Alpha and sending back? I believe shipping the device back and forth will take a long time for me as I live in Malaysia.

What about the Titanium Mobile offer? I received the Dev Alpha approval email yesterday and the Terms state that an elligable app has to be submitted prior to the 30h, which is not possible, because the SDK from Titanium is nowhere near finished.
I uploaded an app in draft which could be submitted for approval, but I don't think it will get approved with this reduced feature set?!

I struggle a little bit and i succeed to make an app with Titanium studio. It wasn't easy, but it was possible. My app was approved, and i got shipping info for DevAlpha.

No, you'll need to ship your BlackBerry Dev Alpha back. The BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition device won't be shipped out until we receive your Dev Alpha.
