BlackBerry 10 Limited Edition Trade-up

I heard somewhere that the limited edition phone will be more limited than the dev alpha.

Is this correct? does anyone know what will be in the phone?

specifically, will it be possible to make calls with it?

shlomiag, I'd laugh uproariously if I thought you were trying to make a joke, but I suppose you're not.

No, I really don't think it will be "more limited"... that's certainly a misinterpretation of the "limited" part of "limited edition".

If you can't make calls with it, you'll find most of 7,500 developers leaving for Ubuntu phone development the next day. ;-)

Ubuntu phones? sounds interesting. Do they hand out phones?

That's actually mb1's post, but in any case there's not the slightest sign his comment should be given any credibility. :-)

I know nothing about Ubuntu phones except for the fancy video they made about their proposal to build them, and their intention to leverage Qt/QML.

That would interest me, if I were looking for another platform.

I don't even understand the need to start a new thread rather than asking for clarity IN the thread you referred to.

Let's look at the "other" definition of "Limited", i.e., such as a "limited release artist's print" would mean "only a certain number of special prints will be printed and issued", as in something special which only a few will have.

Perhaps it will be encrusted in diamonds. There's a rumor to start.

it's a fully functional BlackBerry 10 device.

They wont give it better specs.. Why would they go out and do that?  It'll just be a different color and an engraving on it somewhere giving thanks for supporting BB10, thats all.

Just spec for network coverage (UMTS/HSPA) between different regions (US/Canada/EMEA/Asia) will be enough.
