Re: Account Info Needed (but not really?)

[ Edited ]

Hello, I still need some help.  I have installed Link V1.2.0.28 and successfully sync'd several times.

I continue to get this message on my Q10 under Notifications:

   Account Info Needed

You need to update your account password for EW568

(EW568 is the name of the PC where Link is installed.)

I can find no setting in either the Q10 or Link where I can update the password for EW568.

Can one of the Very Smart BlackBerry Experts please provide some guidance to eliminate this notification.

Thank you.  Dwayne A.

Re: Account Info Needed (but not really?)

ok, look at this image, at the very top left you will see "Chris • Sign Out"

Open your Link, look in the same place. what do you see there?

Re: Account Info Needed (but not really?)

Hello sir.

In that corner it says: Dwayne A*** - Sign Out

It's been signed-in forever.  I never click the 'Sign Out' button nor have I needed to sign-in since first installing the Link software.

What does signing in or out do?

D

Re: Account Info Needed (but not really?)

Doing so connects your BBID with Link.

Why not try logging out and logging back in.

Otherwise I don't know what else to suggest.

Re: Account Info Needed (but not really?)

signed Out and in again of BB Link, ensured i have the latest versions of both Link and phone OS.

signed out and in again of my email account, uninstalled Yahoo.

My Wifi is almost always switched off so i am convinc ed that it is not a Hotspot issue.

made sure no other device was connecting to my email account at the same time as phone.

thats about all i tried so far

Thanks

M

Re: Account Info Needed (but not really?)

Encountering the exact same thing on my Z30. Have been since I got it a month ago. A message pops up in the Hub once or twice a day. Account Info Needed You need to update your account password for Holly (my Desktop) The message pops up sometimes when I'm at home and on WiFi and sometimes when I am out and there is no way the phone could connect to my desktop anyway. It makes no sense, as I can open up the File Manager on the Z30 and see files on Device, Media Card, Dropbox, and Holly. All four locations open just fine and I can browse files on Holly when connected via WiFi or USB. Conversely, Holly can see the Z30 as drives Y and Z as soon as the phone arrives on my WiFi network. This message hasn't caused me any difficulty. It's just annoying, and I could certainly see how it would cause alarm to someone that didn't know much about the phone or networks.
