Re: MY q5 SHOWS THE CAMERA CAN'T BE STARTED

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.

Yes, I am trying to help you.

So, how did you perform the reboot I asked you to do?

Re: MY q5 SHOWS THE CAMERA CAN'T BE STARTED

Hello,

I have the exact same issue; I just have my Q5 for 3 weeks now. Camera worked at first, since about 1,5 week a pop-up on the Q5 showed there was a software update which I installed: 10.2.0.429

It seems like after that update the camera stopped working: camera cannot start...

I did a backup and factory reset, but no result; same issue.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Nope sorry your method didn't work for me !

There was no screenshot taken although the screen did go black and then reboot. Upon reboot I got the message again Smiley Sad

I've tried several reboots and  powered it off for a time before restarting it but each and every time I get the message : "The camera can't be started".

BTW I've had this problem several times previously but then all that was required was a simple reboot ...

Annoying !!!

Re: MY q5 SHOWS THE CAMERA CAN'T BE STARTED

Just to add some more information to my problem :

1. The Torchlight feature is also unavailable.

2. When running the "Camera Flash" test using Virtual Expert it says "The camera or the flashlight is currently in [use]".

3. And of course neither of the Virtual Expert "Front Camera" / "Rear Camera" tests can be ran in the curent state.

Considering the amount of people who have experienced this problem it does seem as through Blackberry should have diagnosed the cause of this issue by now !

Ho Hum ...

Re: MY q5 SHOWS THE CAMERA CAN'T BE STARTED

Have you considered returning for a warranty replacement?
