Re: How to Reload your Blackberry10 OS

[ Edited ]

Sorry, I am new here, didn`t know I can edit messages.

Just I have tried the right one for my device, I suppose, as there is just one 4633 released for Q10:

  • For Q10 models 100-1, -2, -3, -4, -5: Download the 10.1.0.4633 OS [removed unauthorized 3rd party link]

The second link is for 4687 (Q10), and I have loaded on Q10 SQN100-3,

so I really don`t know .. :smileysad:

So I will try also the 4687

  • For Q10 models 100-1, -2, -3, -4, -5: Download the 10.1.0.4687 OS

hope this one will work and no "incompatible radio" message will be shown at the end... thanks so far

Re: How to Reload your Blackberry10 OS

  • Isn`t it possible to re-upload the file for 10.1.0.4687 (Q10)?

    For Q10 models 100-1, -2, -3, -4, -5: Download the 10.1.0.4687 OS

I cannot download, there seems to be an error in the link, it stops every time after 700MB.. so I cannot try this to load to my device..

Re: How to Reload your Blackberry10 OS

Is reloading the OS the same as wiping the device and doing a fresh install?

Re: How to Reload your Blackberry10 OS

Hi JSanders.

Do you have a version of these steps for those on Mac.  I've recently updated to 10.2, and was having issues with the search, phone and camera shortcuts not functioning and completely disappearing from the phone.  I've since  wiped my phone and tried to install a back-up from just after updating the OS.  That didn't go well.  None of my App Folders were recovered and worst of all it didn't restore the Blackberry Password Protect.  That one has got me somewhat panicked since everything is in that program of importance.

I did a wipe without taking the SIM card out.  Can that still work?

  3. Power off the BlackBerry 10 smartphone or BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
  4. Connect the device to the computer.
  5. Click the device name when it is displayed at the bottom.
  6. Click the Reload button.

Re: How to Reload your Blackberry10 OS

Thanks for this.  I didn't know about turning off the phone first.  That said, I did reload the factory OS, then did the upgrade, then did a restore from my last back-up.  Result was no preservation of app folders, and most apps were not loaded on the phone.  Reloaded apps from "available" list (paring some off the list) and the best news of all is though I had to download the Password Keeper app, it had retained all my stored password profiles.  RELIEF.  Thanks for your response in any case.
